In a recent conversation with a friend I’ve known for a really long time… we ended up talking about projections and expectations.
She couldn’t believe that I was having an emotional reaction to something, since she thought I was the “master” at this work (her words, not mine), and that I wouldn’t still have very human reactions to my own underlying stories when they arise…
Nope. Sorry.
I am still walking this life… still doing this work… and still Unstorying it all as I go.
The difference is that I have a practice that unpeels and unravels the stories when they show up.

Like an onion (yes, a Shrek reference…) each time a new story reveals itself, we may cry and react, but it is what we do with that story as it arises that makes the deeper difference. That brings that deeper seeing of who we truly are… underneath the stories.
We get to choose each time… does it bring a deeper reflection and level of awareness, or do we dwell in the reaction, causing drama and theatrics in our wake?
But in those very human moments of old story coming to be seen and met, can we, and those around us, support with compassion and grace?
Or do we expect perfection from those we project onto as already having it all together.
Here’s a spoiler… no one has it all together. Nope. No matter what their social media images and posts may say.
We are all walking through this life, some on a path of self-reflection, some not, but all are perfect in our imperfections.
And all are deserving of love. Sending you all love today. 💗
